KUALA LUMPUR: A young woman caused a ruckus at Terminal 1 of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport earlier this week when she demanded that Singapore, Malaysia and Japan “surrender to China.”

The incident was caught on video and posted on Reddit by someone who was in the queue to enter their boarding gate. The clip shows a female who looked to be in her mid to late 20s, dressed in a short black t-shirt and loose denim jeans, and was also barefoot. She was shouting quite loudly in Chinese and pointing her finger, though it was uncertain as to what or whom she was pointing to.

U/ikkkky9029 wrote that the woman had initially been streaming on TikTok on her phone, but later on, a man, who looked like he was acquainted with her, took her phone away and tried to stop her from making a scene.

“But she kept going without her phone, went on yelling asking Malaysia, Singapore, and Japan… to surrender else everyone dies together. She was counting down, too,” the post author wrote.

They added that it took around 15 minutes for officials to stop the woman.

“No idea where she was taken to but airport became silent so I assume she got taken away,” the Reddit user added.

According to reporting from The Rakyat Post, the woman had arrived in Malaysia on April 30, and three-and-a-half months later, she no longer had any money to purchase a ticket home.

It added that shortly past 1:30 p.m. on the afternoon of Aug 17, she was somehow able to get past the airport auto-gate at Terminal 1 even though she had no boarding pass.

After taking her shoes off, she began live-streaming herself, and started a 15-minute tirade for Malaysia, Singapore and Japan to surrender to China, and went on to start a countdown.

She can be heard saying, “Singapore to surrender or not surrender? Japan to surrender or not surrender?! You guys don't have a phone to record? Don’t you guys know how to live record? None of you guys are from China, right? Everyone is not from China, right? If I die in Malaysia, everyone else dies with me!!! Surrender or not surrender?”

Security officers were finally able to apprehend the woman at Gate C of the terminal. The incident is currently under investigation. /TISG
