Chicken rice stall owner complains after Foodpanda refunds customer for alleged wrong order without checking
Singapore — After Foodpanda fully refunded an order without even checking if it had been correct or not, the wife of the owner of the stall where the food was ordered took to Facebook to air her frustration, writing, “we decided enough is enough.”
In her Sept 19 post, Ms Visa Lee added two screenshots showing orders from Newton Hainanese Chicken Rice that day, which she was sure had been prepared and packed accurately.

Singapore ― After being told that surveillance cameras couldn’t be used to capture someone smoking at their windows, parliamentarian Louis Ng (PAP-Nee Soon) proved with photos that it was possible.
“We have been told the use of the cameras will invade the privacy of smokers and their neighbours. But this can’t be true,” wrote Mr Ng on Facebook on Sunday (Sept 19).

Singapore ― “In Singapore, we have witnessed Mr Umbrage who talked down to the reporter, Mr slip-of-the-tongue Minister who called an NMP illiterate and a Senior Minister who sees anyone earning less than S$500,000 per annum mediocre”, read a piece written by a former student from Raffles Institution, opining that a form of class system still exists in Singapore.
The piece, initially shared on WhatsApp messenger, has made its way around social media, being shared in various Facebook groups. Mr Y, not the author of the piece, states:
“This is written by someone from a lousy skool. Quite good surprisingly. SG long term solution is egalitarianism, not elitism that creates ELITERATES."

Debt collectors show up at Lim Tean’s office demanding payment with court order
Singapore — Lim Tean recently had a team of debt collectors arrive at his law firm demanding that he settle an amount of money.
In a Facebook video posted on the channel of SDCS Holdings Pte Ltd on Tuesday (Sept 21), a legal debt collection service, the entire process at Mr Lim’s office was filmed and live-streamed online.
En route to Lim Tean’s office, SDCS officers filmed themselves and their preparations as they made their way there. One of the collectors spoke in the live stream video explaining that though the sum owed is “not a big amount”, it is a matter of principle.

Ho Ching explains why gov’t isn’t calling for another Circuit Breaker despite growing Covid cases

Singapore — In a Sept 20 Facebook post, Madam Ho Ching addressed the issue of why a strict lockdown has not been called despite the high number of recent Covid-19 cases.
On Sunday, there were 1,012 new infections, the highest daily count since Apr 23, 2020, when there were 1,037 new infections.

The high number of new cases may seem alarming to some, leading Mdm Ho, the wife of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and the outgoing CEO of Temasek Holdings, to say that some people have been wondering why the “govt is not stopping all activities and go into a circuit breaker mode now or as soon as possible.”
