SMRT's Desmond Kuek announced MRT lines best performance in years and internet erupts

SMRT chief executive officer Desmond Kuek at the first Singapore Rail Technology Conference today (18 Nov) announced that the North-South and East-West MRT lines achieved 144,000 train-km before breaking down in the first 10 months of this year. This he said was the best recorded performance for the two lines in recent years. Readers who responded to The Straits Times report of the announcement in its Facebook were nothing but amused.
