A netizen who goes by Dan Sparks on Facebook made a comparison of what he can afford in the United States as opposed to Singapore.

“In the US, I can own a 2 story bungalow and 2 BMWs. In SG I can only buy a 3 room flat,” he wrote in a post on the Complaint Singapore Facebook page on Thursday (Sept 23).

The post has received over 300 comments so far, with many netizens warning him to be careful of what he wishes for, and that life in other countries isn’t necessarily better than in Singapore.

Some commenters warned about gun violence and mass shootings in the US, where “the right to keep and bear arms” is part of the Constitution.

Others pointed out the advantages of living in Singapore, including being kept safe from crime.

A commenter mentioned a place in Indonesia—Tanjong Pinang—where he says it's even safer than in Singapore.

Some said that property prices are better in Malaysia.
